Even the driver detail is excellent.

image

Dale Yamashita's "typical" excellent presentation.

Keith Tanaka ready for LeMans Coupe qualifying. Keith's Steube DVD car is about to be retired soon after taking too many wall blasts due to questionable driving skills!

D3 LeMans Coupe qualifying results. Congrats to Pete Zimmerman on a sizzling TQ of 4.286 seconds.

image

Dale Yamashita's 2nd place car. Dale's latest chassis is based on a design by Paul Sterrett.

image

image

This is a typical Yamashita built chassis, displaying excellent craftsmanship.

image

image

Dale has been improving with each D3 race and has made it obvious he is one of the best racers in SoCal D3.

image

image

The motor bracket is a Sterrett design. Dale also used the metal crown gear that Paul Sterrett uses with this motor bracket.

image

Doug Matthes' winning car. This is the same chassis Doug has raced for many previous Can Am and Coupe races.

image

Doug's chassis is lightweight (94 grams?), yet handles great.

image

image

image

image

image

image

Paul Sterrett's 3rd place car.

image

Paul's chassis design is also the basis for Dale Yamashita's chassis.

image

Paul designed/built the wide/short motor bracket to position the inline motor closer to the rear axle.

image

The front end incorporates these "pinchers" to help protect the chassis during crashes/collisions.

image

image

image

Paul favors using metal crown gears on his cars. The tubing on the sides of the motor bracket are used to secure the side rail/floppy hinge. This allows easy replacement of the side pans.

image

Keith Tanaka's 2nd place car

image

image

Keith's car was too heavy with lead (134 grams). Too lazy to remove the lead. Didn't matter.

image

No, the lead wires are not shorting.

image

That doohickey on the rear was a last minute addition to keep the rear of the body from being sucked under by the rear tires.

image

Dale Yamashita's winning NASCAR.

image

Another excellent chassis by Dale Yamashita.

image

Dale's car was the class of the field, easily passing everyone in the corners.

image

Combined with Dale's excellent driving skill made this win quite easy for Dale today.

image

If your looking for a fast NASCAR chassis to emulate, this one would be a good choice.

image

image

image

Dennis Samson's 3rd place NASCAR

image

This is a typical Samson chassis, well designed and built.

image

image

image

image

Dennis uses a plastic drag racing spur gear which worked quite well.
